The girl had dreamed of winning the country’s most famous dance competition since she was a child. She had trained for years, missed out on rest and entertainment to get to that day. She had always had her best friend by her side, helping her prepare and always supporting her.
The day of the competition finally came. There was tension backstage. The participants were checking their dresses and shoes for the last time. She was also preparing to go on stage. During that time, Marie approached her, wished her luck, and said that everything would be great.
When the music started, the girl confidently walked onto the stage. From the first movements, it was clear that she was one of the favorites. The audience was watching her with admiration, and the jury members were taking notes.
However, in the middle of the performance, something unexpected happened. One of her shoelaces came off. The girl lost her balance and fell. Silence fell on the hall.
The jury stopped the performance, and the paramedics approached her. Although the injury was not serious, the competition was over for her.
Sitting backstage, Anahit tried to understand how her new shoes could have suddenly been damaged. At that moment, a scene appeared in her mind. Before the competition, she had left the dressing room for a few minutes, and when she returned, she noticed someone standing near her things. At the time, she had not paid attention.
The memory continued. That person was her friend.
Anahit did not want to jump to conclusions. She asked the organizers to watch the security camera recordings. A few hours later, the truth was revealed.
It turned out that her friend had indeed approached the shoes. But not with the intention of damaging them. She had noticed that one of the fasteners had loosened and had tried to quickly fix it before Anahit returned. Unfortunately, due to her haste, the fastening was not sufficient, and it had come loose during the performance.
When the girl saw the entire video, her eyes filled with tears. She realized that her suspicions were wrong.
Her friend also took what happened very hard and blamed herself.
In the end, the organizers of the competition, after studying the incident, decided to make an exception and give the girl the opportunity to participate in the final round a week later.
That day she returned to the stage. This time everything went perfectly. Anahit won the competition, and when she received the award, she was the first to hug her friend.
She realized something important: sometimes the person who seems most suspicious at first can be the very person who was trying to help you.
